Senior project manager at West Indies Home Contractors Limited (WIHCON), Evon Foster, is committed to his goals and works hard to achieve them. He joined WIHCON while attending the University of Technology after seeing an advertised position for a draftsman. .
“As a draftsman, our team was responsible for producing plans and updating drawings for the construction managers in the field, and that further propelled me to want to be further involved in the end product,” Foster said.
On the completion of a construction management degree, he was transferred to the site as a junior engineer assigned to the coast road project. This helped to develop his personality as a go-getter and a hard worker.
Following that project, he was assigned as an engineer to the construction of schools programme in St Catherine and then promoted to the position of project manager for one of the largest school projects undertaken in Jamaica, with the construction of 17 schools in the western region.
After the schools programme, he was involved in housing construction, starting with The Aviary development. He also pursued an MBA at the University of Liverpool with a specialisation in human resource management and leadership.
